I’m Ben and I’m a full-time documentary wedding photographer based just north of Southampton, Hampshire. I shoot weddings all over the country and overseas (now and again). I truly believe I have one of the best jobs in the world.
I’m self taught. Not one to stage and direct a shot. I quietly observe and anticipate a moment and do my best to capture it as honestly as I can. I work with natural light. I’ve been nominated on three separate occasions for ‘Best Wedding Photographer’ in the South. Featured in Vogue and the UK’s top wedding blogs. I tend to shy away from the spotlight of the wedding industry. I’ve never presented at a wedding fair, it’s just not me.
I’ve been a retail store manager, a web and graphic designer and photography studio owner. I can thank my old man for buying me my first DSLR back in 2006. Two years later I photographed my first wedding. I was hooked. I went full-time in 2011. Since then my passion has quite literally taken me to the other side of the world.
I’m a full-time single Dad and live with my wonderful son Micah. We grow fruit and veg in our garden throughout the year and used to keep chickens – we hope to again soon. I am a qualified PADI rescue diver. I love to travel and explore – the Scottish highlands and Dartmoor National Park are a favourite place to ‘re-charge’ in the UK.
